Friday Fun Five
My Weekly Top 5 Showcasing the Beauty of Everyday Life
1.) A New Partnership
I made the official announcement last week on social media, but in cased you missed it, I have a new partner joining me at the studio! Studio 320 is now a collaboration between myself and Jamie at Nite Lights Entertainment. He is an awesome wedding DJ based here in Green Bay with 25 years of experience. You want an amazing party experience for your guests, Jamie is your guy! Our vision is to create a welcoming space for current and potential clients to meet with us as well as create a stronger referral base for both of our businesses. We would love to add another partner when the time is right!
2.) My Little Sister ella
Ella & I were paired last April through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin. This was a volunteer opportunity I wanted to do a long time ago, but with working at the TV station and the coffee shop and going back to school for photography, there simply wasn't the time or the energy. Then last spring while I was still working at Nicolet National Bank, a volunteer coordinator for BBBS spoke to us at a lunch meeting explaining the need for volunteers. This time I knew my chance had come. It has been one of the best things I've ever done and you never know how strong your positive influence and presence can be on someone, especially children. She desperately needs a trusting woman to talk to and thankfully I've earned her trust. She recently went through some pretty tough things, but she is so strong and wise for a third grader. I'm looking forward to the years ahead so I can watch her grow and become even wiser :) The card and necklace were a belated birthday gift from her...something so small and simple, but very meaningful coming from such a youngster!
3.) Mother Nature Strikes...Again
It seems as though I'm writing about the wonders of Mother Nature every week! But I can't help myself when we have such a magical snowfall that gently covered the branches and foliage. How God can create such a beautiful winter wonderland mystifies me. I couldn't be upset even though we should be having April Showers for those May flowers!
4.) Good Morning
Sticking with nature, the sunrise was so incredibly beautiful in Green Bay the other morning I just had to take a photo. I could see it barely peeking above the trees and I watched it literally rise before my eyes. Seeing that, I now officially have spring/summer fever because watching the sun rise and set is one of my favorite things about that time of year. It's the moment in the day when I pause, take a deep breath of fresh summer air and feel at peace.
5.) A Sweet Friend...Literally & Figuratively!
There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am for the woman pictured with her little boy. He can be a handful at times, but he is such a gentle soul at heart we would often joke if he were exactly 30 years older he would be mine! Well, kinda hard to resist those eyes when he says he loves me...in his little boy way of course lol! Oh my sweet little Benny!
I've known Laura for 10 years now and I really don't know where I would be today without her and her big heart. She has a passion for loving people and I've had the pleasure of being her roommate along with her family for about a year and a half now. That will soon change within the next handful of months, and when it does I will surely miss everything about this family! That includes Laura's sweet surprises :) Last week she left me a small bag of her homemade cookies, which are to die for and a couple nights ago Michael brought me a huge bowl of her homemade oatmeal and ice cream. Seems so small, but means so much to me that she thought to give me a little sweet treat.
