Becky & Luke’s First Photo and Story
Ten months ago this handsome, bearded face stole my heart. I knew from that day on he would be my best friend for a lifetime and all the praying and waiting had been completely worth it! Little did I know we had lived parallel lives with nearly the same experiences and finally one cold December day it was finally meant to be that we would meet.
My best friend and her brother were chatting at a family get together last December and my name came up in conversation. Laura gave a real brief, but accurate description of the type of guy I was looking for to her brother and right away he says "Buttles!!!!!!" She treaded lightly when suggesting I meet this guy because as a forever single woman, I did not do blind dates and truthfully I had completely lost hope. But knowing Laura was never going to give up, I gave in. Less than a week later, her brother arranged for the two of them to meet me at the Green Bay Gamblers game at the Resch Center. I took her nine-year-old son as my wingman and after much anticipation Luke finally walked in. My first thoughts?! "That darn Laura didn't tell me he was so cute!" I was pleasantly surprised by him and we hit it off right away. We haven't been apart since that day, December 15th, 2017, and we know we will be married by the end of 2019. The ironic part of the story is that Luke is also the same age as me and forever single and praying for me to come along. Even funnier is that neither one of us wanted to actually meet each other that night, but for some small reason felt compelled to do it anyway. Now we are looking forward to a lifetime of happiness and love and growing old together.
